Project WorldTour – heading east by bike

One day you will wake up and there won’t be any more time to do the things you’ve always wanted. Do it now.

Paulo Coelho

…that’s why we want to realize our dream of a world tour by bike now.

The idea is to start at the front door and always follow the sun towards the east until we come back from the west.

On the way we don’t always want to choose the fastest way, but take our time to visit interesting places, meet people and cross the big waters by ship. If we succeed and how, you can watch it on our blog.

Planned route as at February 2022

In January 2021 we want to cross the Alps and head towards Southern Europe. Ideally, we will reach the Caucasus and Iran in spring, so that we can travel Central Asia in summer. From Central Asia, we envision a route via China and Southeast Asia to Japan. [Planning before COVID-19, 2019]

By Easter 2022, we want to cross the Alps and head towards Southern Europe. We want to spend the summer in Anatolia (Turkey) and enjoy the autumn in the Caucasus. After a winter stay in Iran we want to ride trough Central Asia, Mongolia and Russia to Japan. [Planning before Ukraine-Russia-Conflict, 2022]
In summer 2023, we will decide how to continue from Central Asia.

From Japan we would like to reach North America by ship to cycle along the Panamerica from north to south.
